Savoury Christmas Phyllo Mince Pie
A Tasty Tradition with a Twist

An effortlessly impressive and delicious canape
Prepare the Christmas mince
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat
- Add chopped onions and carrot and sauté until softened
- Add FROOM™ Mushroom Mince, breaking it up until well browned.
- Add 1 teaspoon of allspice
- Add the chopped dried cranberries
- Add the chopped pistachios
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour in the aquafaba
- Simmer for 5-8 minutes for the flavours to meld
Prepare the canapes
- Preheat oven to 180
- Add the phyllo shells into the base of the muffin tray cups
- Add 50g of the FROOM™ Christmas mince mixture into each shell and pack down gently
- Sprinkle with chopped pitachios
- Bake in pre-heated oven for 10-15 minutes until the phyllo pastry is golden brown
to serve
- Remove and rest for 5 minutes
- Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and more pitstachios if desired
- Serve to guests

- To ensure the base of the phyllo cooks crisply, place the muffin tray onto a heated tray in the oven when coooking

Mince
- 300g FROOM™ mince
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small carrot, grated
- 1 tablespoon allspice
- 50g chopped dried cranberries
- 50g chopped pistachios
- 60ml aquafaba – juice from a can of chickpeas
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
Phyllo Canapes
- Phyllo pastry shells
- Pomegranate seeds for garnish
- Chopped pistachios for garnish
